Peter Myers, in his article titled “Learning the Case for Separately Single-Sex Schools”, praises the idea that boys and girls could be separated in school.
I have only had one (experimental) class like this: my 6th-grade science class.
Whether or not being in a room with all males improved my test scores compared to my other classes or other students with mixed-gender classes, I have no clue, which is why I decided to research this school So assuming that one set of standards are being held over both male and female students, what are the benefits of single-gender schooling? I will answer these questions in the remainder of this paper, along with my own adaptation of this school reform.
While boys are declining in academics, girls are excelling.
Girls are earning better grades, scoring higher on their SAT's, and taking home the majority of America's bachelor's degrees (Wolcott).

In their efforts to keep up, many boys are struggling.Some say that this is a result of schools catering to that of a feminine ideal. Are boys and girls distracted by one another in school?Are boys embarrassed to ask a question or do well in school when girls are present in their classrooms?The school reform that I have decided to research is single-gender schooling.This is the idea that students perform better academically when they are in classrooms with only classmates of the same sex.There are many arguments that support either side of this question.I have found that there are many advantages and disadvantages in both school settings.For example, boys do not have to worry about impressing the girl in the class: they can simply focus on the material.Girls do not have to feel inferior in math and science subjects, they can learn together and help each other grasp the content.
