To expect AR activists to remain silent is failing to respect their right to express themselves and advocate veganism. It is nearly impossible for a person to live on this planet without causing some suffering and death to animals.

Some prominent AR advocates have called for making the slaughter and eating of meat illegal, while others rely on moral persuasion.

But AR activists will never remain silent in the face of what they believe is this injustice—and they have a legal right to free speech that is protected by law.

The question at hand is: do animals deserve rights? Humans deserve rights and this claim is made on numerous appeals.

Of one of the pertinent pleas is made on the claim that humans can feel emotions. Therefore, Vegetarianism is the first logical step in Animal Rights.

More importantly, that humans are capable of suffering, and that to inflict such pain is unethical. If we continue to kill and eat them, then what real recognition of their rights has there been?

Those who observe the tortures of the Nazi Concentration Camp are instilled with a humane creed held for all humans. A racist's reasoning is flawed because he claims that one race is undeserving of sympathy, despite that it may be capable of suffering. Another area where their rights are disregarded is in blood-sports, where creatures are hunted and killed for some sake of pleasure -- that terror in the hearts of animals brings warmth to the hearts of men.For the betterment of our fellow creatures is our cause. While opponents of animal rights (AR) usually make weak arguments for their case, they are occasionally right.Animals Deserve Rights It is the notion of our time that non-human animals exist for the advancement of the human species. In whatever field -- cookery, fashion, blood-sports -- it is held that we can only be concerned with animals as far as human interests exist.Animals are killed and displaced on farms to grow crops; animal products show up in unexpected places like car tires; and pollution destroys wild habitats and the animals who depend on them. However, this has nothing to do with whether animals deserve rights, and being vegan is one way to minimize one's negative impact on animals and leave as small a carbon footprint as possible.Lions play with their food before killing and consuming it.There have been no studies to suggest that lions feel sorry for their prey, whereas human beings are empathetic to others. Male lions have more than one partner, a practice humans frown on.Also, a male lion will kill the babies of another male lion in order to perpetuate its own bloodline."It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases." In the case of animal rights, say its adherents, there is nothing wrong with seeking solutions that are "extreme" and far from the ordinary.
