Teaching Listening and speaking can be quite tough and intimidating.
Not that I’m complaining, but it is a harsh reality that I’ve to live with.
Whereas, I sing the song first as they try to listen to the lyrics and afterwards they will try to sing it together.
This process may sound cliche’ or maybe just ordinary but for me it worked like a charm.
With limited resources, it’s quite challenging for the teacher to teach languages for the pupils here.
If we are using useless, non-creative and non-practical approach in teaching Listening and Speaking to them than the same cycle will keep repeating, the pupils will never open their heart to learn new languages because they are not convinced enough that the languages such as English is fun and important to them.
In addition, memorising words, phrases or sentences seemed to have some small impact for the pupil.
If they like the song that they’ve heard then they will try their best to memorise the lyrics although it will take some time.
It should be noted that oral communication is different from written communication.
One would not speak in the way he or she writes should not use the logic of oral language in formal writing.
